Multi-award winning electronica artist Christopher van Deylen, aka Schiller , who has sold over 2 million albums worldwide, releases his first classical-inspired album Opus on Deutsche Grammophon s new Panorama label

Christopher von Deylen established Schiller in 1998 (he was so delighted with Die Glocke by Friedrich Schiller, that he decided to release his music under the poet s name), with the project's first release turning out to be an instant international hit: "Das Glockenspiel" has been one of the very few German productions entering the UK-charts top-three and was later remixed by legendary DJ Tiesto

Constantly searching for new connections, Schiller has created visionary hymns of electronic music with extremely diverse and creative allies. Mike Oldfield has appeared on Schiller albums, as has the legendary pianist Lang Lang, with prominent guest singers including Xavier Naidoo, Sarah Brightman, The Count of Unheilig, and Thomas D. of the Fantastischen Vier

With his new album Opus , von Deylen pursues new paths: for the first time he has invited instrumentalist stars of the classical scene like the renowned classical pianist Hélène Grimaud, who interprets Erik Satie s Gymnopédie No. 1 , while the legendary soprano Anna Netrebko encounters electronic music for the first time and masterfully places Edvard Grieg s Solveig s Song into Christopher von Deylen s appealing acoustic landscape. Acclaimed oboist Albrecht Mayer lends his voice to the famous main theme of Tchaikovsky s Swan Lake

Well-known melodies like Rachmaninoff s Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini op. 43 and Debussy s Reverie emerge like emotional docking stations from which Schiller conjures timelessly beautiful, stunning electronic hymns

On Opus , von Deylen weaves together classical melodies and electronic sounds, creating an album which is at the same time beautifully different, yet still typically SCHILLER.
