Highly influenced by artists like Salvador Dalì, Tangerine Dream began its career representing musical surrealism. After having sold off all of their "traditional" music equipment, the Berlin-based band began using strictly electronic devices like synthesizers, sequencers, mellotron, moog and other self-built toys. These rare recordings trace the band from this initial experimental period: 'Ultima Thule' & 'Asteroid Agenda' from 1972, 'Sunset In The Fifth System' & 'Mysterious Semblance At The Strand Of Nightmares' from 1973,
'Maroubra Bay' from 1975 and 'Run To Vegas' from 1978.
